Mr. Brian Maher has been a Director of Bands and Instrumental Music teacher for over two decades, and currently is a Band Director and Instrumental Music teacher in the Hamilton Township School District. Mr. Maher received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Temple University, and a Master of Arts in Music Education from New Jersey City University.

Mr. Maher retired from teaching Marching Band in 2019, and his Competitive Marching Band career spanned twenty-one years, which included forty-nine first prize wins (with true competition against other bands), and also included two USBands New Jersey State Marching Band Championship wins, and two USBands National Marching Band Championship wins. At the time of his retirement from Competitive Marching Band in July of 2019, Mr. Maher was the winningest Director of Bands in not only Hamilton Township History, but also in Mercer County.

A music arranger and orchestrator from a young age, Mr. Maher has over 300 musical arrangements and orchestrations to his name, writing for competitive Marching Bands in New Jersey, Swing Bands on the East Coast, and even Philadelphia Mummers' String Bands! Mr. Maher is also a proud member of the Woodland String Band of Philadelphia, playing alto saxophone and arranging music for them.

Mr. Maher plays saxophone, clarinet, piano and a bit of plectrum banjo! He enjoys bike riding and watching classic cinema. A life-long sodapop connoiseur, Mr. Maher scours the soda shoppes for those hard-to-find beverages in glass bottles. (Dr. Pepper, RC Cola and Fanta Fruit Punch are his top three favorites!)

Mr. Maher lives in Crosswicks with his wife, Yasmin (who is also an educator), and his daughter, Madison.

"It's important to me that my students are taught to be confident, and to always strive for excellence, in whatever path they choose in life. Only then, will I know I have succeeded as an educator."
