Mr. Thomas Jeske

I started my first instrument, the cello, in Illinois public schools at the age of 9 and began private lessons when I moved to the Delaware Valley at the age of 12.  I began playing with local professional orchestras and the Philadelphia Youth orchestra at the age of 15, and began studies with former Associate Principal Cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Miss Elsa Hilger, at the same time.  Since then, I have performed with such notables as Kansas, Olivia Newton John, Ben E. King, Aaron Neville, Luciano Pavarotti, and Linda Ronstadt, as well as a two week concert tour in northern Spain with the Newtown Chamber Orchestra.

I love making music and helping others to learn the skills and self-discipline necessary to begin that exciting journey.

Special AnnouncementSorry to have missed any of you who tried to join my Wednesday afternoon Meet yesterday.  I lost power early in the afternoon, which made it impossible for me to log on.  I will have a replacement session today, June 4, from 1:50-2:20 for anyone who would like to join in.  Use the same code as usual to enter the Meet.  If that time can't work for you, email me and we can set up another time.

Open Remote Sessions There are two open Google Meet sessions scheduled per week: Wednesday, 2:30-3:00 and Thursday, 10:00-10:30.  Those sessions are intended for 1st year students.  Additional Meets can be scheduled by contacting me through Classroom or email.  Meet codes will be sent out via Classroom Stream in order to maintain access security.

2nd/3rd year students have their own sessions set up on Fridays with their own Meet codes sent out through Classroom.

Tuning your instrument - Instructional videos are available in Classroom.  I strongly recommend that parents do this or, at the very least, supervise the process with their child.  This is DELICATE work that, at the same time, often needs some strength. Contact me if you need help.
