• Welcome to the Library/Media Center!

reading buddies My name is Mrs. Wilson and I am the librarian at Langtree. I am very excited to welcome students into the library every day. As a media specialist, I have the opportunity to incorporate technology into various lessons. Since I want all students to enjoy reading, I tried to think of a way to get them excited about reading. What I came up with was a reading buddy! Students are happy to choose a book, reading buddy and go to the rug to read!

Another section of the library I have been working on is creating a Seasonal Section where students can go and easily find books about the season. This area is popular with all students and will continue to change as the year progresses.

I am very enthusastic to be a part of the Langtree Family!

Learning how to read just doesn’t happen in the classroom. Parents and caregivers play an important role in supporting readers. It is important for reading to become part of your child’s daily life. Students are encouraged to read at least 20 minutes each night. Please join us for the month of March in making sure your child(ren) read each night. You can do this by completing the reading log that was sent home. Each time you complete a sheet just return it to school and you will receive another one. At the end of the month, all the minutes will be tallied. The child with the highest amount of minutes read from each class will be chosen to receive a new book of their choice.

    Happy Reading!
