Mr. Brian Maher

Mr. Brian Maher has been a Director of Bands and Instrumental Music for over two decades, and has held the position of Director of Bands at Hamilton High School West since the 2006-2007 school year. Mr. Maher received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Temple University, and a Master of Arts in Music Education from New Jersey City University.
He currently teaches the Hamilton West Symphonic Band, along with classes for Piano Lab, Music Theory/Harmony, Music History, and is the Director of the Award-Winning "Pride of Mercer County" Hamilton West Marching Band, which competes in the USBands Competitive Marching Band circuit.
Mr. Maher currently has two USBands New Jersey State Marching Band Championship wins, and two USBands National Marching Band Championship wins.
A music arranger and orchestrator from a young age, Mr. Maher has over 300 musical arrangements to his name, writing for competitive Marching Bands in New Jersey, Swing Bands on the East Coast, and even Philadelphia Mummers' String Bands! He currently designs and writes the music for the Hamilton West Marching Band's yearly "Competitive Field Program," of which he announces the new theme every year on January 1st at midnight on the band website: HornetBands.org.
Mr. Maher plays alto saxophone, clarinet, piano and a bit of plectrum banjo! He enjoys bike riding, watching classic cinema, and enjoys an ice cold soda on a hot summer day. (Dr. Pepper, RC Cola and Fanta Fruit Punch are his top three favorites!)
