Degrees and Certifications:
Hello and welcome to my page!! Here you will find assignments and resources to use in Spanish class. Any useful classroom resources will be on the "Classroom Resources" page. Please feel free to check out any resource at any time to enhance your study of Spanish. Assignments will be posted in POWERSCHOOL. Often, reminders for assignments will also appear under the "Assignments" section here on my website. 6th and 7th grade, you do NOT have homework unless you didn't finish an assignment in class.
Attention Parents / Guardians; Please visit your child's Powerschool Portal to view all upcoming due dates for assessments, projects, and homework.
6th grade is a cycle course. We learn basic phrases, numbers, and how to talk a bit about ourselves. We also talk about geography and the weather.
7th grade is also a cycle course. In 7th grade, we review our basic vocabulary from 6th grade. Our topics include; the family, clothing and vacation items, passport, and how to order food in Spanish.
8th grade is the Spanish I elective course. It allows students who are academically ready to enter the same Spanish I course as their high school peers. Together, we explore various places that speak Spanish and begin to learn how to create with the language by talking about ourselves and others, what we like and dislike, and what we like to do, and also to talk about various things in our lives such as school and family.
The grading policy for Spanish is the same as most other classes in the building; Summative50%, Formative40%, and Individual Practice10%. FOR CYCLE COURSES ONLY, please note that because Spanish is split on a day 1/day 2 rotation, the number of assignments in each category is divided differently. If you have questions about this, please feel free to reach out to me. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
