Please refer to this page as much as possible.

    Grading Policy:

    • 50%   Tests, Projects, & Research Papers

     ELA

This school year we will learning exciting new things. 7th graders will be working on improving reading levels by understanding skills for better comprehension.  They will be reading stories from many different genres, both fiction and non-fiction.  They will be learning how to write better sentences, paragraphs, and papers. They will learn new vocabulary, language skills, and spelling words. Every three weeks students will be allowed to choose two books from the media center.  They will be required to do a small report on one of the books and turn it in when their library books are due.

    Math

In math students will be studying the number system by reviewing integers in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. We will solve mathematical and real-life problems using numerical expressions. We will study geometry by learning angle measurement, area, and volume. We will also begin to understand statistics and probability.

***Supplemental materials will also be used to enhance the teaching of all subjects and skills.***

    Classroom Expectations:

    • Be Respectful to Everyone!!!
    • No Bullying
    • Follow all directions
    • Be Prepared
    • Follow Rules and Procedures from the Student Handbook

    Requested Supplies:

    • A homework folder for each class
    • A box of Kleenex to be shared with the class
    • A box of pencils (these will be stored with the students name on the box that he/she brought in and supplied when the student needs a new pencil)

*many items are supplied in class so that may eliminate the need for lots of bulky binders unless needed for other teachers*

    Behavior Policy:

Students are expected to follow all school and classroom rules during school hours.  We have created system where students are able to earn “fake” money throughout the class for various things.  Money will then be used to “buy” treats at specific times throughout each marking period.

    Consequences:

Students will be given a verbal warning for most forms of inappropriate behaviors (life threatening or physically inappropriate behaviors will be sent to the office immediately). Repeated inappropriate behaviors may result in, but are not limited to, the movement of one’s seat, a check (this affects their grade for behavior), lunch detention, a phone call to parent/guardian, and/or a green slip which then involves the administration.
