About the courses:
7th Grade World Geography -
For this class we will be learning about the history, geography, and cultures of regions and countries outside of our own. We will be studying regions such as the Middle East, North Africa, East Asia, and much more. You will come to find that actions all over the world impact us right here at home.
Your textbook will be assigned for you to access online and you will be provided with a class set as well.
8th Grade US History -
In 8th grade, we will be covering the very beginnings of the United States, detailing from Colonization to the start of the Civil War. We will be placing an emphasis on civics and government, and analyzing primary and secondary sources. This is to help students better understand the context of the time periods we are studying.
Textbooks will remain in class unless otherwise noted. It is a tool to be used in order to reinforce concepts being taught to you. If you would like to take a textbook home for any reason, please sign it out and return when finished.
Summative Assessments (3/MP) 50% - Tests, Projects, Debates, ETC.
Formative Assessments (5/MP) 40% - Quizzes, Mini Projects
Independent Practice (no min) 10% - Class work, Participation
