    A MESSAGE TO MY AWESOME 5th GRADE STUDENTS WHO ARE RISING SIXTH GRADE STUDENTS NOW

    First, to ALL of the Fifth Grade students who are "Moving Up" to Middle School:

    CONGRATULATIONS as you move on from McGalliard Elementary School.  You have worked extremely hard this year and conquered many obstacles!  Continue to keep that "GRIT", stay focused, and always stay McGalliard Proud!

    Next, to my amazingly awesome, young ladies and gentlemen of 5D!:

    Always strive for EXCELLENCE, stay focused, learn as much as you possibly can, remember that you represent yourself, your family, and your McGalliard Family.  First impressions are lasting impressions!  Each and every one of you have the tools to succeed!  This year ALL of you have worked through obstacles and you did NOT quit!  (Just remember the perseverance you demonstrated this year- whenever things get tough!)

    I'm so very proud of each and every one of you:  Leah, Lindsay, Joey, Janell, Lukas, Sashelle, Kali, Aryanna, Kaylee, Eduardo, Aimee, Lucie, Zachary, Alan, Aiden, Nylina, and Ryan.  

    Thank you for allowing me to be your teacher this year- in the classroom and "through the screen" remotely.

    To all of the Parents & Guardians- Thank you for letting me borrow your child for just a little while :)  I am so grateful and appreciative for all of the support and encouragement you have provided for your child, and me as well this year!  I want you to know that I truly couldn't do any of this without you!  "It takes a village"  :)  Thank you for being a member of the 5D village and the Fifth Grade Family!

    OTHER:  TODAY IS VIRTUAL FIELD DAY!  Here are the instructions and activities that Mr. DeClerico and Mr. Bridges have listed for today's events:  

    We are excited to announce that our school will be hosting a Virtual Field Day on Friday June, 12th! Since we were unable to have our traditional Field Day due to the closure of schools, we decided to create a Virtual Field Day so that our McGalliard students would not miss out. This VOLUNTARY event intends to be fun and easy to do using regular household items! The format for our field day will consist of 8 individual games that can be played indoors or outdoors at your own pace and will have an optional competitive challenge of "Can you beat your PE teacher" for each field day game! You will be able to find the McGalliard Virtual Field Day on Mr. DeClerico and Mr. Bridges teacher webpage as well as their Google Classroom page on June 12th.  Take plenty of videos and pictures to share on Mr. DeClerico's and Mr. Bridges Google Classroom Pages.  Thanks!

    REMOTE LEARNING PLAN FOR WEEK 3 , DAY 5, FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2020

    Good Day Everyone!  Here are the Remote Learning Assignments for WEEK 3, DAY 5, Friday, April 3, 2020:

    MORNING MEETING:  Join your classmates for our third Morning Meeting of the week in Google Meet Up from 10:30 -11:00 am.  Please have something positive on your mind that you would like to share with your classmates and me this morning!

    READING:  I-Ready ( the site is still running slow, patience is the key, the assignments WILL show up)

    1.  Comparing  & Contrasting Characters

    WRITING:  All students have an EXTENDED amount of time to finish your 5 facts for your Person of Character for the WAX MUSEUM.  I am still proofreading and making comments on your writing.  Be sure to look in your Google Docs or Google Stream for your returned paper.  Then you may start on the FINAL copy typed in size 48 size font.  Each fact should have its' own page.

Hello:  My name is Lorraine M. Dingle and I teach 5th Grade here at McGalliard Elementary School.

I have taught here for 17 years.

I love my students dearly!  I graduated from Long Island University- C.W. Post Campus.

I also taught in Trenton, NJ,  Scottsdale, Arizona and Long Island New York.  Previous occupations were with the United States Air Force- Civilian Employee, In Spanghdahlem, Germany.

In total I have 23 years of teaching experience in many different populations.
