I encourage you to create a manageable schedule for your child during this difficult time. This will help with any feeling of stress or worry. Remind your child that this isn't a vacation, but that just like in school, there are expectations and work to be done. Reading, practicing math facts, writing in a journal should be daily activities. In addition, please follow the special schedule to the best of your ability.
MONDAY - Art
TUESDAY - Health
WEDNESDAY - Music
THURSDAY - Library
FRIDAY - Physical Education
By Wednesday, everyone should have picked up the work packets for the weeks of 3/30 and 4/13. Students have been given 10 days of reading, writing, math, science or social studies, and spanish. They are expected to complete the assignments listed each day. We will be using the work completed to demonstrate student "attendance" in order to receive credit for the days at home. Completed work will need to be returned once school is back in session. Again, don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns through Class Dojo or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please check each day for updates.

This year our class will focus on social emotional learning and nuturing the leader in each child. All students have the capability to lead in their own lives and affect those around them by making positive choices. Students will set goals and track their progress. They will learn the 7 Habits of Healthy kids. The 7 Habits will help the students think about their choices before they make them. They will plan ahead and learn how to get along with others. In addition, students will use their talents and strenghts to solve problems. Habit 1 is to be proactive. This mearns that students will be responsible and take initiative. They will choose their actions, attitudes and moods. We are about to enbark on an exciting journey, so ask them how they are doing along the way. Reinforcing the Habits at home will give us all an opportunity to learn together! I am hoping that everyone is able to connect to our class Dojo to keep up with our daily events. I look forward to working with you this year.
