Welcome back for the 2018-1019 school year!! My name is Andrea Bucchere and I am a ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist. I am very excited to be starting my third year at Sayen Elementary School working with our Sayen Lions!
To tell you a little about myself, I am a mother to the three most amazing little boys in the world ages 15, 13, and 10! I attended Rutgers University and The College of New Jersey during my undergraduate studies. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a minor in Deaf Studies and a concentration in speech-language pathology. I received my Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology also from The College of New Jersey in 2001. Over the course of my career I have had a wide variety of experience. I spent some time working in the Mercer County Special Services School District, in a pediatric private practice, in acute care and also in sub-acute rehabilitation. I joined the Hamilton Township School District in the spring of 2012.
I will be keeping a weekly blog again this school year. At the end of each week ( or as often as I can :) ) I am going to give a brief overview of what we did in speech as a way for you and I to stay connected. The top post will always be the most recent. My hope is that these posts will give you a glimpse of some of the activities we are working on week to week. As always, if there are any questions or concerns please contact me. Email is always the best method to reach me: firstname.lastname@example.org. There are links on the left side of the website that will provide some tips and some practice activities for home for both articulation and language.
I am thrilled to meet and get to know all of my new students, to see all of those students from last year that I have missed so much, and am excited to work as a team to develop excellent speech and language skills!!
