  • Dear Parents and Students,

Hello!  As of Monday, March 16th we will be beginning Remote Learning.  This is something that is new to all of us, so please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments and concerns!  You can reach me by email at cdileo@hamilton.k12.nj.us, or through Google Classroom.

For those students who were absent on Friday, March 13th, you should be receiving a folder from me within the next few days.  Two of the letters that are included in the folder have been posted on my Classroom News tab.

Please visit my webpage everyday to see the day's assignments.  We will be using many different websites for remote learning - but all of the assignments will be posted on my webpage.  Some of your child's work will be completed on paper (such as cursive, and Social Studies).  Please have your child bring that work to YHS when we return to school.

Please also visit your child's Special Area Teachers' webpages for his/her PE, Art, Music and Library assignments.

Thank you so much for all you are doing to support your child's education during this time.  Please remember that there are lots of opportunities for learning in your child's Clever account, which will be available throughout our Remote Learning.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Dileo

  • Dear Parents/Guardians,

In an effort to prepare for the possibility of remote learning, I think it is important to establish a consistent daily instructional plan for the students. If remote learning is to take place, I will be posting each day’s lessons (ELA, Writing, Math, Social Studies) to the main page of my website each morning. To access my page, begin by going to our school’s web page and clicking “Our Teachers”, which can be found on top of the main page. Then, click on “Dileo, Christie”. This will bring you to my main page.

Each day I will post the lessons that the students are expected to complete, broken down by subject. Many of the lessons will be completed through the use of GoogleClassroom. We use GoogleClassroom often in third grade and my students are familiar with the format. Students will also complete assignments on ThinkCentral (which is found in Clever) and Middlebury Interactive Languages Login - our district’s Spanish website -  which can be found through my website. For Spanish lessons, students must use their email as their username and “password1” for their password. Social Studies lessons will be complete in the green Hamilton Township book that was sent home.

In order to ensure all students are completing their daily assignments, begin each morning on my teacher page. A folder has also been sent home which includes the texts that are associated with StoryworksJr., as well as the green Hamilton Township book. Students are expected to complete all activities to the best of their abilities.

Thank you for your continued support and please feel free to email me with any questions!

    Thank you, Mrs. Dileo

  • Hi Everyone,

Can you believe that it is almost the end of 2019?  It’s amazing how fast time flies!

I am writing to let you know that after Winter Break our class will no longer be having an afternoon snack.  We have a great schedule this year, with our lunch right in the middle of the day, so I think the third graders will be able to get through the afternoon without a snack.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Dileo

  • Dear Third Graders and Families,

We have just confirmed the date of one of our Field Trips.  We will be going to Churchville Nature Center on Wednesday, May 27th.  Parents are welcome to attend as chaperones!  More information will be provided closer to the date of our field trip.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Dileo

     Dear Third Graders and Families,

Welcome Back to School! I am so excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year!  This will be my 14th year teaching at Yardville Heights. I really enjoy teaching third grade!  It is important to know that third grade can be much more challenging than previous grades. Students are now reading to learn, so the reading passages become much harder. In math, we will be learning about multiplication and division. We will also dive much deeper into fractions!

I am looking forward to a very productive (and fun) school year! Lunch for the third graders begins at 12:00 pm, so we ask that you please pack a healthy, easy to clean up afternoon snack (Ex: fruit, crackers, rice cakes) that will be eaten during instruction. (Please make sure that this snack is peanut/nut free!) Having an afternoon snack will help us remain focused on our school work, in order to be more productive.

Please remember to review your child’s folder and agenda each night. Your child will continue to need your support to learn and grow this year. To learn more about our classroom, please visit our webpage at:   https://www.hamilton.k12.nj.us/Domain/1760

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at cdileo@hamilton.k12.nj.us. I look forward to seeing everyone at Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, September 24th at 6:30 pm.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Dileo
