• Concert Band Info

The Concert Bands at Grice form the core of our program.

We offer three separate programs that students can participate in:

DAY 1 Band - This band consists of 6th and 7th grade students that usually entering their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of music instruction.

DAY 2 Band - 6th and 7th grade students in this band usually have 1 or less year experience on their instrument (or they change instrument type).

***The Day 1 and Day 2 bands meet every other day in like-experience groups for the entire school year.***

8th Grade Elective Band - This band meets everyday as a full group and has high performance expectations.

All Grice concert bands participate in "Music Showcase Festivals" following our spring concert.  The groups will receive a rating based on their performance as well as earning section and soloist awards.  The students are welcome to celebrate their year of hard work by attending our Hershey Park Trip in June 2020!

Mr. Bonomo and Mr. Wilmot will be restarting a music improvisational club.  Music improvisation is used in jazz soloing and we help build both individual playing and ensemble skills.  We plan on having this club meet once per month throughout the school year.  Please look for more details on this new club when we get back in September!
