We start the year with Unit 3 which is all about place value, rounding, addition and subtraction. Math homework is usually given every night.
This trimester we will focus on both fiction and non-fiction. We will be reading a lot of stories and focusing on asking and answering questions with evidence, character traits, and main idea.
We finished writing our personal narratives about summer break. We will continue to write one more narrative story, and then work on an opinion writing piece.
We took a couple weeks to look at maps. We explored our continents and oceans. Students used maps and identified various map parts. Now, we move on to our government unit. Students will learn about being a good citizen, the levels of government, and also the branches of government. Our class president election is always a favorite!
No Science is being taught at this time, we will start after completing our S.S. unit.
